Victorinox Technical Half-Zip

Victorinox Technical Half-Zip

Probably best known for the creation of the iconic multi-functional ‘Swiss Army Knife’, Victorinox is a company that has transferred their expert prefision in functional design across to range of industries since its creation in 1894. It wasn’t until 2001 that they launched the Victorinox clothing line, employing Donrad Duncan as the head designer. The Jamaican designer was born into a family of tailors, where he learnt the trade before moving to the US in 1980 and studying at Parsons School of Design. There was a particular focus on comfort and movement in his designs for Victorinox, with technical features that complimented the functional ethos of the brand. He is also the first ever designer to be granted the Massimo Osti Archive license, where he later founded utilitarian brand MA.Strum before going independent.

This particular piece is a perfect example of considered design with functionality at the heart of the concept. The jacket is constructed from waterproof materials with external tapes seams on the arms for optimal comfort, protection and breathability. It features a half-zip with side zips for access and ventilation. There is also a unique layered system on the front with standard hand pockets and concealed storage options. The cuffs can be expanded to reveal 3M detailing which compliments the reflective arm logo. There is also a Victorinox removable retractable clip in the pocket and Recco technology.
