Prada Sport Tactical Balaclava Vest - F/W1999

The Prada Sport line was launched in the late 90s with the intent of producing athleisure garments with materials and shapes that assimilated the features of ‘technical mountain clothes’. The signature Prada red tag later cemented itself in streetwear culture throughout the 2000s. Only the first few seasons of the Prada Sport line were ever featured on the runway, showcasing a beautiful range of highly technical pieces that clearly separated Prada Sport from the athletic diffusion lines of its competitors. The F/W1999 season is a personal favourite of mine as it shows the perfect blend between technical and sophisticated design achieved by Prada.

This particular piece is from the F/W1999 season and features a signature Prada nylon construction. There are velcro straps to secure the Vest at the back and this also allows the wearer to carry the vest easily when not in use. There are 2 front pockets for valuables and a hood that is designed to provide full facial coverage. Signature Prada branding on the hem rounds off one of my favourite pieces from what is arguably Prada’s best season.
