Prada Mainline Signature Nylon Windbreaker - F/W1999
Before Miuccia Prada took over the fashion house in the late 1970s, Prada had not been much different from other luxury brands with their products, solely offering a range of luxury leather goods. Miuccia decided to experiment with different materials in order to give Prada a fresh look (Leather had been the most used material by fashion houses at the time). In 1979, Miuccia introduced the first range of bags constructed from a heavy duty nylon material, which had been labelled as an ‘anti-luxury’ material. These ‘anti-luxury’ luxury bags instantly became a hit. Prada later expanded into clothing in the 90s, continuing the use of Nylon in their designs, and have never looked back.
this particular piece from the S/S1999 season features a lightweight signature nylon construction on the exterior with a breathable mesh lining. This jacket features a double zip and a elasticated cuffs and hem.
Good condition with minor signs of wear.
