Prada Mainline Signature Nylon Cargo Trousers

Before Miuccia Prada took over the fashion house in the late 1970s, Prada had not been much different from other luxury brands with their products, solely offering a range of luxury leather goods. Miuccia decided to experiment with different materials in order to give Prada a fresh look (Leather had been the most used material by fashion houses at the time). In 1979, Miuccia introduced the first range of bags constructed from a heavy duty nylon material, which had been labelled as an ‘anti-luxury’ material. These ‘anti-luxury’ luxury bags instantly became a hit. Prada later expanded into clothing in the 90s, continuing the use of Nylon in their designs, and have never looked back.

 This particular piece is a pair of cargo trousers from 2019 season. It features a gabardine construction similar to the signature nylon used on Prada’s bags but with a lighter feel. They have an elasticated waist for comfort with belt loops and elasticated hems that can be turned in for desired fit. There are 2 standard pockets on front and back as well as 2 cargo pockets with the signature Prada logo in red on the right compartment.
