Prada Mainline Signature Long Coat

Prada Mainline Signature Long Coat

Before Miuccia Prada took over the fashion house in the late 1970s, Prada had not been much different from other luxury brands with their products, solely offering a range of luxury leather goods. Miuccia decided to experiment with different materials in order to give Prada a fresh look (Leather had been the most used material by fashion houses at the time). In 1979, Miuccia introduced the first range of bags constructed from a heavy duty nylon material, which had been labelled as an ‘anti-luxury’ material. These ‘anti-luxury’ luxury bags instantly became a hit. Prada later expanded into clothing in the 90s, continuing the use of Nylon in their designs, and have never looked back.

This particular piece from 2006 features Prada’s signature nylon construction in a long trench coat form. This piece was also part of a special collection of jackets released in 2006 that featured an interior lining that Prada usually uses on their bags. There are 2 standard pockets on the exterior and 2 interior pockets. There us a stitched triangle on the back panel of the coat and a nylon triangle panel buttoned to the interior to round off this classy piece.

Good condition with some minor signs of wear.
