Prada Mainline Shearling Coat - F/W2017

Prada Mainline Shearling Coat - F/W2017

Before Miuccia Prada took over the fashion house in the late 1970s, Prada had not been much different from other luxury brands with their products, solely offering a range of luxury leather goods. Miuccia decided to experiment with different materials in order to give Prada a fresh look (Leather had been the most used material by fashion houses at the time). In 1979, Miuccia introduced the first range of bags constructed from a heavy duty nylon material, which had been labelled as an ‘anti-luxury’ material. These ‘anti-luxury’ luxury bags instantly became a hit. Prada later expanded into clothing in the 90s, continuing the use of Nylon in their designs, and have never looked back.

This particular piece from the F/W2017 season features a wool exterior with a faux fur and wool shearling lining through the body and hood. There is a belt to adjust the coat to the desired fit, 2 exterior hand pockets and 2 interior stash pockets. There are contrasting brown leather inserts over the shoulders and can be secured with the buttons or zipper.

Great condition with very minor signs of wear.
