Prada Mainline Puffer Jacket

Prada Mainline Puffer Jacket

Before Miuccia Prada took over the fashion house in the late 1970s, Prada had not been much different from other luxury brands with their products, solely offering a range of luxury leather goods. Miuccia decided to experiment with different materials in order to give Prada a fresh look (Leather had been the most used material by fashion houses at the time). In 1979, Miuccia introduced the first range of bags constructed from a heavy duty nylon material, which had been labelled as an ‘anti-luxury’ material. These ‘anti-luxury’ luxury bags instantly became a hit. Prada later expanded into clothing in the 90s, continuing the use of Nylon in their designs, and have never looked back.

This piece from 2017 is a parka style puffer jacket. It features 2 zipped chest pockets, 2 standard hand pockets and a pocket on the arm that sits below the signature logo. There are also 2 more interior compartments and adjustable cuffs.

Good overall condition with signs of wear - some damage to the right arm, zip replaced with a fully functioning YKK zipper and minor marks & holes around the jacket but lots of life left.
