Prada Mainline Nylon Windbreaker 2014

Prada Mainline Nylon Windbreaker 2014

Before Miuccia Prada took over the fashion house in the late 1970s, Prada had not been much different from other luxury brands with their products, solely offering a range of luxury leather goods. Miuccia decided to experiment with different materials in order to give Prada a fresh look (Leather had been the most used material by fashion houses at the time). In 1979, Miuccia introduced the first range of bags constructed from a heavy duty nylon material, which had been labelled as an ‘anti-luxury’ material. These ‘anti-luxury’ luxury bags instantly became a hit. Prada later expanded into clothing in the 90s, continuing the use of Nylon in their designs, and have never looked back.

This particular piece is a windbreaker from the 2014 season. It features a multi-layered gabardine construction similar to the signature nylon used on Prada’s bags but with a lighter feel. There are 2 standard hand pockets and 2 interior compartments. The hood and hem are both adjustable and the signature Prada logo sits on the left arm.

Good condition with some signs of wear.
