Polo Ralph Lauren Cargo Shorts
Polo Ralph Lauren Cargo Shorts
Polo Ralph Lauren was first launched in 1967 with a line of handmade wide ties from Ralph Lauren's desk in the Empire State Building. The following year he launched the first full menswear collection and by the end of the 1970s, PRL was pioneering multiple styles across the U.S., drawing inspiration from military, formalwear and old western influences. through the 1990s Ralph also expanded the brand into more extreme outerwear lines, and the sportswear industry through the Polo Sport sub-brand. A particularly strong and deep-rooted connection to 90s hip-hop culture means that the brand is still regarded today as one of the most important streetwear brands of all time, despite never fully focusing on streetwear. By the turn of the millennium, PRL was a true fashion empire, being worn by the stockbrokers, street kids and everyone in between all over the world.
This particular pair of cargo shorts are a great example of how the PRL design team was able to adapt military designs into their mainline collection. They feature various sized cargo pockets on each leg and reinforced stitched sections for durability.
