Oakley Software Thermo-Moulded Ski Jacket

Oakley Software Thermo-Moulded Ski Jacket

Oakley was founded in 1975 by avid motocross fan Jim Jannard who named the brand after his pet dog ‘Oakley Anne’. He started out by producing motorcycle grips constructed from ‘Unobtainium’, a unique rubber material that he had created which offered the best grip in wet conditions. It wasn’t until 1984 that Oakley made their move into the eyewear market, which they would go on to completely revolutionise. During the 90s they decided to transfer their innovative expertise into the clothing market. The Software label specialised in producing unique and technical designs for a wide range of clothing, further cementing Oakley’s position as a leader of innovation.

This piece is constructed from a high-quality fully waterproof Nylon material developed for Oakley that performs better than Gore-Tex. The most striking feature is the use of thermo-moulded padded sections on the shoulders and elbows for durability - something Oakley did not do very often. There are 5 main storage compartments on the front and a stash pocket concealed by the main zipper. There are also extra compartments on the back. The hood is removable and there are ventilation zips on the chest, pits and shoulder blades. This piece is missing the interior powder skirt but features very unique panelling with contrast detailing.

Good condition with some signs of wear and age.
