<head><meta charset="UTF-8" /></head>Oakley was founded in 1975 by avid motocross fan Jim Jannard who named the brand after his pet dog ‘Oakley Anne’. He started out by producing motorcycle grips constructed from ‘Unobtanium’, a unique rubber material that he had created which offered a far better grip in wet conditions than any others around at the time. It wasn’t until 1984 that Oakley made their move into the eyewear market, which they would go on to completely revolutionise with unique ground-breaking designs. The ‘Jacket’ family of sunglasses by Oakley, starting with the ‘Eye Jacket’ in 1994, aimed at producing frames that fit the face like clothing fits the body. The popularity of this range of sunglasses propelled the brand forward through the 1990s and solidified their position as a leader of innovation.

Released by Oakley in 2001, the Scar represents a bold and innovative addition to the "Jacket" family. The Scar's design combines form and function, with teardrop-shaped lenses and distinctive batwing-style orbitals. Constructed from Oakley's signature O-Matter, a durable nylon composite, the frames are lightweight yet highly resilient. Adding to its premium appeal, the Scar incorporates lugs on the hinges made from Oakleys X-Metal, as a subtle nod to the series, which not only enhance durability but also showcase Oakley's iconic logo. The Scar quickly became a favorite among Oakley enthusiasts and even made a pop culture appearance, worn by Pierce Brosnan in the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day. The frame also features Unobtanium nose socks for enhanced grip and all-day comfort, even in wet conditions-an innovation that underscores Oakley's commitment to performance-driven design.

Great condition with some minor signs of wear - with microfibre bag and hard case.
