Oakley Monster Dog ‘Pearl White/Black Iridium’
Oakley Monster Dog ‘Pearl White/Black Iridium’
Oakley was founded in 1975 by avid motocross fan Jim Jannard who named the brand after his pet dog ‘Oakley Anne’. He started out by producing motorcycle grips constructed from ‘Unobtanium’, a unique rubber material that he had created which offered a far better grip in wet conditions than any others around at the time. It wasn’t until 1984 that Oakley made their move into the eyewear market, which they would go on to completely revolutionise with unique ground-breaking designs. The ‘Jacket’ family of sunglasses by Oakley, starting with the ‘Eye Jacket’ in 1994, aimed at producing frames that fit the face like clothing fits the body. The popularity of this range of sunglasses propelled the brand forward through the 1990s and solidified their position as a leader of innovation.
Originally released in 2003, the Monster Dog features an O-Matter frame that has been engineered to fit the face well enough to eradicate the need for signature Unobtanium earsocks. The impact-resistant Plutonite lenses with Iridium coating offer the highest definition XYZ optics and the unique lens shape ensures that the level of protection or optical clarity offered was not impacted by the slightly larger frame size. Colour-coded Oakley branding on the stems round-off one of Oakley’s most iconic frames.
Good condition with minor signs of wear and some slight marks on lenses but vision is not impaired.
