Oakley ‘Mad Science’ Technical Half-Zip

By the end of the 1990s, Oakley had revolutionised the eyewear market with their unique approach to design. Their expansion into the clothing market had also proved to be a success by developing a wide range of high performance gear. However, the turn of the millennium signified a new era of ‘Mad Science’ design, pushed heavily by founder Jim Jannard and encapsulated by the launch of Oakley’s wildest & most iconic pieces of all time. This new design approach spanned across all departments, including the clothing division leading to the production of more considered and highly technical performance pieces like the ones above.

The top is constructed from a lightweight nylon material and features a sidewinding half zip and small neck zip that conceals a soft microfiber panel beneath that bears the Mad Science logo for comfort. There are 4 pockets in total, with the dump pocket containing a mesh compartment for valuables and a headphone cord channel running underneath. Expert construction can be seen throughout with articulated elbows and cuffs for movement and an adjustable hem and hood.

Good condition with minor signs of wear and age - zip pulls damaged from age but zips all working
