Nike AFE Technical Modular Pocket Jacket 2010

Nike AFE Technical Modular Pocket Jacket 2010

Nike are often hailed as one of the most innovative sportswear companies around, with over 50 years worth of revolutionary products behind them in support of that statement. During the 2000s particularly, Nike experimented with countless highly technical concepts and designs with the aim of revolutionising their design approach further. Whilst some of these unfortunately remained as just another concept from Nike’s Innovation Kitchen, they were also keen to push as many functional designs into production as possible in this period, allowing for some truly brilliant technical pieces to be created. The ‘Athletics Far East’ collection was created in Japan and utilised advanced technology to produce a futuristic range of clothing mainly aimed at runners, with a few extra technical pieces for wider uses like the one above.

This particular piece from the AFE collection is perfect for snow use with a Gore-Tex construction and taped seams for optimum weatherproofing. It features a removable stealth cover compartment that reveals a selection of small compartments underneath. There are also 2 overlayed chest pockets, 2 standard pockets and a pocket on the left arm. The adjustable hood features a built-in fleece face mask and the interior powder skirt is removable for everyday comfort. A 2-button clousre at the hem allows the wearer to secure the hem at a cropped fit or leave it extended when more coverage is needed. It is always great to see pieces like this from Nike that blend stealth pocket features with an overall more considered high-quality design.

Good condition with some minor signs of age.
