Nike 01 Code Waterproof Jacket & Modular Vest
Nike 01 Code Waterproof Jacket & Modular Vest
The Nike 01 Code collection was designed in the early 2000s by the legendary Tony Spackman, who was coming off the back of a successful stint at Maharishi that saw him develop some of their most iconic pieces in the late 1990s. Spackman stated that he worked through the night for a week, conceptualising new ideas of garment movement on the human form. The result of this was Nike Code, a complete reconstruction of everything from the inside out. The pieces featured some of the most difficult pattern cutting the industry had ever seen, along with the use of the highest quality fabrics, like Loro Piana Storm System Nylon & Wool, which all resulted in a very high price point and very low production numbers. The limited line of pieces was originally only made available in around 10 places worldwide but the vision proved to be too far ahead of the times as the larger Nike engine couldn’t completely get behind this revolutionary collection. The 01 Code collection is still one of the most forward-thinking and unique line of pieces made not only by Nike, but in the Sportswear Industry as a whole.
This particular piece was labelled the ‘Wet’ jacket, featuring an exterior half-zip pullover constructed from Loro Piana Storm System fabric with taped seams and an interior modular vest. The exterior shell features unique stiff panels that outline the form of the piece, and work to conceal different panels that can be opened to reveal hidden pockets and ventilation gaps. There is a very unique hood design that allows the hood to become a reinforced collar when not in use. The interior vest was originally lined with a technical gel that regulated the body temperature of the wearer but this has sinced perished with age, however the vest will still be included.
Excellent condition with no flaws - only sign of age is on the vest lining as explained.
