Marithè Francois Girbaud Cargo Skirt
Marithé François Girbaud is a French-based company founded in 1972 by stylists François Girbaud and Marithé Bachellerie. The brand focused mainly on casual clothing and denim-wear. The brand was once known for their work with different washes of denim, and were at the forefront of using experimental production techniques to manipulate denim, spanning all the way back to the late 1960s. Girbaud is regarded as the first to invented the industrial process of stone washing jeans, as well as creating the first pair of baggy jeans in 1977. The 90s was a time that many other brands would start to follow in the footsteps of Girbaud, creating baggier cuts to satisfy their consumers demands.
This particular skirt perfectly captures the MFG design approach with a military stance on formalwear. It features 2 standard pockets and 2 cargo pockets worked into the contrasting material panels, with zip detailing.
