Junya Watanabe MAN x Innerraum Quilted Tactical Gilet + Armoured Cap

Junya Watanabe began his career in 1984 as a pattern cutter and protégé of Rei Kawakubo at Comme des Garçons. He began working under his own name for a separate Comme des Garçons line in the early 90s and developed a reputation for his technical designs and the way he reworked fabrics in the early 2000s. He has worked with several outdoor brands such as The North Face, Karrimor and Mystery Ranch on sets of apparel that all build upon the concept of re-configuring backpacks and fusing them with jackets. For the FW2023 season, Junya collaborated with Innerraum to blend their unique design concept with his own, producing an incredible collection that exaggerates the fusion of function and fashion.

This particular piece takes the form of a puffer vest that has become a signature reference for Junya, being reworked in several collections through the years. This one features a quilted nylon exterior with polyester fill for warmth. The chest pocket on the front has been reworked into a cage constructed by Innerraum with their signature armour-style materials and design language. On the back, an Innerraum strap and clip system connects a Junya cap that has also been reworked by Innerraum, encasing the black hat in armour with the same strap system to adjust the fit of the cap. 

Brand new with tags! - one connector on the hat has come loose in storage (see pictures) does not affect fit or design.
