iPod/MP3 Goggle Jacket
iPod/MP3 Goggle Jacket
This particular piece is an excellent example of design referencing, as this takes very obvious inspiration from Massimo Osti’s C.P. Company. The jacket uses the exact same goggle mask system used by Osti on a variations of the 1988 Mille Miglia jackets, which inspired the design team who saw the potential to use this on a ski jacket with a full face covering and built-in mirrored-lenses. The system was referenced again by C.P. Company on the 2003 Arctic Explorer jackets. The goggles can be secured to the side of the hood when not in use or zipped over the face and secured to the top of the hood. There is also a second interior hood that can be worn instead. The other main feature of this piece is the iPod/MP3 control panel built into the arm which allows the wearer to fully control their music from the wrist.
