Giorgio Armani Wool Stitch ‘Fade’ Knit Sweater - 1980s
Giorgio Armani founded Armani in 1975 and began presenting ready-to-wear collections until the early 1980s when the first diffusion lines were created. Emporio Armani & Armani Jeans were both launched in 1981 with the aim of dividing the different design approaches clear individual lines that showcased different styles. The Emporio Armani line aimed to produce a more ‘fashion-forward’ selection of garments that carry the same principles and qualities of the main line, with more unique design approaches. The popularity of this line grew rapidly through the '80s & '90s, becoming one of the leaders of the high-fashion industry by the 2000s.
this particular piece from the 1980s era features a very unique ‘purposeful fade’ construction on a typical striped sweater. The yarn has been carefully selected and worked through the sweater to give the appearance of a natural fade.
Great condition with very minor signs of wear.
