Giorgio Armani founded Armani in 1975 and began presenting ready-to-wear collections until the early 1980s when the first diffusion lines were created. Emporio Armani & Armani Jeans were both launched in 1981 with the aim of dividing the different design approaches clear individual lines that showcased different styles. The Emporio Armani line aimed to produce a more ‘fashion-forward’ selection of garments that carry the same principles and qualities of the main line, with more unique design approaches. The popularity of this line grew rapidly through the '80s & '90s, becoming one of the leaders of the high-fashion industry by the 2000s.
This piece from the 1980s era features a full soft leather construction with an asymmetrical zip, stylised collar options, multiple pockets and padded sections on the shoulders and arms.
Great overall condition for 40 year old leather, with some minor wear to the interior lining by the cuff mainly.
