2004 Issey Miyake Wool Two-Tone Coat
Throughout the most impressive 70-year career in fashion, Issey Miyake first opened his Tokyo design studio in 1970 and established himself as a designer who could incorporate influences from every aspect of life into his designs, captivating audiences around the world with every show and building important foundations and platforms for the next generation of young designers to showcase their talents. Everything from fine art to everyday workwear and military styles can be seen in every collection offered by the Japanese designer. Naoki Takizawa was tasked with taking over menswear design in 1994 and followed suit, drawing from the same influences as his mentor but utilising revolutionary materials to bring these concepts into the future.
This piece is a wonderful twist on a classical piece by utilising a two-tone single layer fabric. The construction allows the fabric to be exposed at the seams giving a blue outline to each of the panels. There are 2 standard hand pockets and 2 interior chest pockets that can be seen from the outside due to exposed stitch. There is also a large hood that is designed to drape over the face.
Great condition with some minor signs of wear and age.
